CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Norrbom et al. (1999: 211) ].

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Strongygaster Macquart, 1834 View in CoL .

REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in Rondani (1868a). In Rondani (1868d) this is either an incorrect subsequent spelling or unjustified emendation (by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work). We thus follow ICZN Code Article 33.5 in treating this spelling in Rondani (1868d) as an incorrect subsequent spelling.
