CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Ptilocera Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (as “ Ptylocera Macq. ”); junior synonym of Zeuxia Meigen, 1826 . New synonymy.
FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “i” to “y” in the same work. Ptilocera Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Zeuxia Meigen, 1826 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 368) ].
