FIRST INCLUDED SPECIES: Ptilops nubilis Rondani, 1862 ; Ptilops vidua Rondani, 1862 ; Ptilops puella Rondani, 1862 ; Ptilops infans Rondani, 1862 ; Ptilops adolescens Rondani, 1862 ; Tachina chalybeata Meigen, 1824 (in Rondani, 1862d: 165–167).
TYPE SPECIES: Ptilocera adolescens Rondani, 1862 [= Tachina chalybeata Meigen, 1824 ], by subsequent designation ( Townsend, 1916: 8).
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Dufouria Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 393) ].
FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .
REMARKS: Brauer (1893: 486) designated Tachina nigrita Fallén, 1810 as type species, but this was not an originally included species. See also REMARKS under Ptylops Rondani, 1859 below.
