TYPE SPECIES: Dolichopus platypterus Fabricius, 1805 , automatic [by designation of the same species (by subsequent designation of Westwood, 1840: 134) for Psilopus Meigen, 1824 ].
CURRENT STATUS: New replacement name for Psilopus Meigen, 1824 ; junior synonym of Sciapus Zeller, 1842 [ teste Yang et al. (2006: 442) ].
