ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Hydrotaea floccosa Macquart, 1835 (as “ Hydrothaea Floccosa Macq. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Hydrotaea floccosa Macquart, 1835 (as “ Hydrothaea Floccosa Macq. ”), sensu Rondani, 1856 [misidentification; = Onodontha penicillata Rondani, 1866 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Hydrotaea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Pont (1986b: 74) ].
FAMILY: MUSCIDAE .
