CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Pachymeria Stephens, 1829 ; junior synonym of Pachymeria Stephens, 1829 (as a subgenus of Empis Linnaeus, 1758 ). New synonymy.
FAMILY: EMPIDIDAE .
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work. Pachymeria Stephens, 1829 is currently treated as a subgenus of Empis Linnaeus, 1758 [ teste Yang et al. (2007: 115) ].
