FAMILY: HIPPOBOSCIDAE .
REMARKS: The earliest mention of Ornithomya Latreille, 1804 using the spelling “ Ornithomyia ” that we have found in this study is Ornithomyia Macquart (1835: 641) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “mya” to “myia” in the same work.
