ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Phorantha musciformis Rondani, 1861 .

TYPE SPECIES: Phorantha musciformis Rondani, 1861 [= Conops subcoleoptratus Linnaeus, 1767 ], by monotypy.

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Phasia Latreille, 1804 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 409) ].

FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .

REMARKS: Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 409, 412) correctly dated Phorantha musciformis from Rondani (1861b: 217) but incorrectly dated Phorantha from Rondani (1862d: 6, 21).

[Phorellia] Rondani, 1870a: 7.

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Forellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 .

FAMILY: TEPHRITIDAE .

REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.
