ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Melanogaster nubilis Rondani, 1857 ; Musca viduata Linnaeus, 1758 ; Musca cemiteriorum Linnaeus, 1758 (as “ Sp. 3. Cemeteriorum Lin.”); Chrysogaster chalybeata Meigen, 1822 .
TYPE SPECIES: Melanogaster nubilis Rondani, 1857 , by subsequent designation ( Coquillett, 1910: 567).
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Chrysogaster Macquart, 1803 [ teste Peck (1988: 134) ].
FAMILY: SYRPHIDAE .
