343. Mycetina Rondani, 1856: 195 View in CoL View at ENA .

ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Mycetophila flavipes Macquart, 1826 .

TYPE SPECIES: Mycetophila flavipes Macquart, 1826 , by original designation .

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Mycetophila Meigen, 1803 [ teste Laštovka in Hackman et al. (1988: 266)].

FAMILY: MYCETOPHILIDAE .

REMARKS: Laštovka in Hackman et al. (1988: 266) placed Mycetina in synonymy with Mycetophila but placed the type species Mycetophila flavipes Macquart, 1826 in “Doubtful species”.

EMENDATIONS: Micetina Rondani, 1861e: 12 (unjustified), n. syn.

[Mycetoica] Rondani, 1861e: 169.

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect original spelling of Micetoica Rondani, 1861 [ teste this work].

FAMILY: ANISOPODIDAE .

344. Mycetomiza Rondani, 1861e: 12.

CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Mycetomyza Rondani, 1856 ; junior synonym of Mycosia Rondani, 1861 . New synonymy.

FAMILY: MYCETOPHILIDAE .

REMARKS: This is one of two original spellings (the other is Micetomyza, page 169) in Rondani (1861e), both of which are eligible as emendations by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work; however, as both names are used for the same taxon ( Mycetomyza Rondani, 1856 ), they cannot both be emendations. Acting as First Reviser, we select Mycetomiza as the correct original spelling, which relegates Micetomyza (q. v.) to unavailable name status. Mycetomyza Rondani, 1856 is treated as a senior (but invalid) synonym of Mycosia Rondani, 1861 in this work.
