CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Cytherea Fabricius 1794 [ teste Evenhuis & Greathead (1999: 233) ].

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Lomachantha Rondani, 1859 using the spelling “ Lomacantha ” that we have found in this study is Lomacantha Lioy (1864e: 1321) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “ch” to “c” in the same work.
