ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Chyliza atriseta Meigen, 1826 (as “ Chiliza Atriseta Meig. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Chyliza atriseta Meigen, 1826 (as “ Chiliza Atriseta Meig. ”) [= Musca extenuata Rossi, 1790 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of the subgenus Dasyna Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (of the genus Chyliza Fallén, 1820 ). New synonymy.
FAMILY: PSILIDAE .
REMARKS: Soós (1984a: 35) treated Megachetum Rondani, 1856 as a junior synonym of Chyliza Fallén, 1820 . However, the valid name for the type species of Megachetum Rondani, 1856 ( Musca extenuata Rossi, 1790 ) is the same as the valid name for the type species of subgenus Dasyna Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 , which makes Megachetum Rondani, 1856 a junior synonym of Dasyna Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 , n. syn.
