CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Kertész (1902: 311) ].
FAMILY: PSYCHODIDAE .
REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Lyoneura (page 179) and Lioneura (page 213). Acting as First Reviser, we select Lyoneura as the correct original spelling, which relegates Lioneura (q. v.) to unavailable name status. This genus-group name is missing from Wagner (1991) but was treated by Kertész (1902: 311) with the footnote “Genus ad Psychodidas pertinens, an Ulomyia Walker ?”.
