REMARKS: The earliest mention of Eristalomya Rondani, 1857 using the spelling “ Eristalomyia ” that we have found in this study is Eristalomyia Kittel & Kreichbaumer (1872: 78) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “mya” to “myia” in the same work. Eristalomya Rondani, 1857 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Eristalis Meigen, 1803 [ teste Peck (1988: 185) ].
