ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Exodontha pedemontana Rondani, 1856 (as “ Exodontha Pedemontana Bellardi (in litteris)”).
TYPE SPECIES: Exodontha pedemontana Rondani, 1856 (as “ Exodontha Pedemontana Bellardi (in litteris)”) [= Beris dubia Zetterstedt, 1838 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Woodley (2001: 77) ].
FAMILY: STRATIOMYIDAE .
REMARKS: Verrall in Scudder (1882: 193) listed the spelling Exodonta and this was cited as an unjustified emendation by Woodley (2001: 77), but criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in Scudder (1882). Exodonta Verrall, 1882 is thus an unavailable name, new status.
EMENDATIONS: Hexodonta Mik, 1897: 40 (unjustified).
