ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Pipiza heringi Zetterstedt, 1843 (with “ Heringia Zetterstedtii Rndn. ” in synonymy).
TYPE SPECIES: Pipiza heringi Zetterstedt, 1843 (with “ Heringia Zetterstedtii Rndn. ” in synonymy), by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Chvála & Smith (1988: 83) ].
FAMILY: SYRPHIDAE .
REMARKS: Two names are originally included in Heringia Rondani, 1856 : Pipiza heringi Zetterstedt, 1843 and Heringia zetterstedtii Rondani, 1856 . The latter is an unnecessary new replacement name for the former.
