ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Themira pilosa Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (as “ Themira Setosa Desv. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Themira pilosa Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (as “ Themira Setosa Desv. ”) [= Musca putris Linnaeus, 1758 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Themira Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Zuska & Pont (1984: 164) ].
FAMILY: SEPSIDAE .
REMARKS: Robineau-Desvoidy did not describe a species with the name “ Themira Setosa ”. We assume this name in Rondani (1856) was a lapsus for Themira pilosa Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 .

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Halithea Haliday, 1837 .
