ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Deximorpha marittima Rondani, 1856 (as “ Dexia Marittima Macq :”).

TYPE SPECIES: Deximorpha marittima Rondani, 1856 (as “ Dexia Marittima Macq :”) [= Dexia picta Meigen, 1826 ], by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Estheria Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 363) ].

FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .

REMARKS: Rondani (1856: 84) listed the type species as Dexia marittima Macquart. There is only one such species-group name in Macquart’s works (1850: 527; as “ Dexia maritima ”) but it is an unavailable name there. Although Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 363) gave the method of type fixation for Deximorpha in Rondani (1856: 84) as by original designation, they dated the type species from Rondani (1862d: 64). This is incorrect. The characters in Rondani (1856: 84) that make the genusgroup name available serve to also make available Deximorpha marittima as the singly included species.
