CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Dasypogon Meigen, 1803 View in CoL or subsequent usage of Dasipogon Dufour, 1833 .

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Dasypogon Meigen, 1803 using the spelling “ Dasipogon ” that we have found in this study is in Dufour (1833: 216), n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work.
