ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Dasineura luteofusca Rondani, 1840 ; Dasineura obscura Rondani, 1840 .
TYPE SPECIES: Tipula sisymbrii Schrank, 1803 , by subsequent designation (I.C.Z. N., 1998: 246 [Opinion 1911]) .
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Gagné (2004: 125) ].
FAMILY: CECIDOMYIIDAE .
REMARKS: The earliest valid type species designation was by Rondani (1856: 200) who selected Dasineura obscura Rondani, 1840 . Gagné et al. (1997) applied to the ICZN Commission noting that acceptance of this would upset stability of the well-known name Dasineura . The Commission voted in favor of suppressing the Rondani (1856) designation and fixed Tipula sisymbrii Schrank, 1803 as the type.
EMENDATIONS: Dasyneura Oken, 1844: 450 (unjustified), n. syn.; Dasynevra Agassiz, 1846b: 117 (unjustified).
