ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Asilus striatus Fabricius, 1794 .
TYPE SPECIES: Asilus striatus Fabricius, 1794 [preoccupied by Asilus striatus Gmelin, 1790 ; = Habropogon heteroneurus Timon-David, 1951 , new status], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Habropogon Loew, 1847 [ teste Oldroyd, 1975: 119 )].
FAMILY: ASILIDAE .
REMARKS: Lehr (1988: 242) treated Asilus striatus Fabricius, 1794 as a valid name with Habropogon heteroneurus Timon-David, 1951 as a junior synonym. Asilus striatus Fabricius, 1794 is preoccupied by Asilus striatus Gmelin, 1790 and the next available name for the taxon is Habropogon heteroneurus Timon-David, 1951 , new status, which is here resurrected as the valid name of the type species of Dactiliscus .
