ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Limnobia marmorata Meigen, 1818 (as “ Limnobia Marmorata Hofg. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Limnobia marmorata Meigen, 1818 (as “ Limnobia Marmorata Hofg. ”) [= Limonia maculata Meigen, 1804 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Savchenko et al. (1992: 217) ].

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Elomya Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 using the spelling “ Elomyia ” that we have found in this study is Elomyia Macquart (1834a: 204) , as an unjustified emendation ( Evenhuis et al., 2010b: 70).
