ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Tachydromia vocatoria Fallén, 1815 (as “ Tachidromya Vocatoria Fall. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Tachydromia vocatoria Fallén, 1815 (as “ Tachidromya Vocatoria Fall. ”), by original designation.

REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Chyromantis (page 148) and Chiromantis (page 205). Acting as First Reviser, Collin (1961: 687) selected Chiromantis as the correct original spelling.
[ Chiromya ] Rondani, 1875a: 273.
CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Chyromya Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 View in CoL or subsequent usage of Chiromya Agassiz, 1846 .
FAMILY: CHYROMYIDAE .
REMARKS: The earliest mention of Chyromya Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 using the spelling “ Chiromya ” that we have found in this study is Chiromya Agassiz (1846a: 8) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work.
