TYPE SPECIES: Erioptera taenionota Meigen, 1818 (as “ Erioptera Toenionota Wiedm. ”) [= Erioptera lutea Meigen, 1804 ], by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Erioptera Meigen, 1803 [ teste Savchenko et al. (1992: 252) ].

REMARKS: Chetylia Rondani (1861e: 159) is probably based on “ Chetilia ” of Rondani (1861e), but because no reference was made to this name or this work the 1859 name is not made available in the 1861 work.
