ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Copromyza pusilla Fallén, 1820 .

TYPE SPECIES: Limosina acutangula Zetterstedt, 1847 , by subsequent designation (I.C.Z. N., 1996: 136 [Opinion 1839]) .

CURRENT STATUS: New replacement name for Heteroptera Macquart, 1835 ; valid genus [ teste Rohaček (2001: 135) ].

REMARKS: Wheeler & Swann (1994) applied to the ICZN Commission to designate Limosina acutangula Zetterstedt, 1847 as the type species of Coproica Rondani, 1861 because the original type species, Copromyza pusilla Fallén, 1820 , sensu Rondani, 1861 was based on a misidentification. Currently, Copromyza pusilla is a species of Ischiolepta Lioy, 1864 and acceptance of Rondani’s designation of it as type species of Coproica would threaten stability by placing Ischiolepta Lioy as a junior synonym of Coproica . The ICZN Commission (I.C.Z.N., 1996: 136 [Opinion 1839]) voted in favor of designating Limosina acutangula Zetterstedt, 1847 as the type species of Coproica Rondani, 1861 .
