ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Musca vomitoria Linnaeus, 1758 ; Lucilia flaviceps Macquart, 1835 ; Musca dux Eschscholtz, 1822 (as “ dux . Wdm.”); Musca accincta Wiedemann, 1830 ; Compsomyia caeruleovirens Rondani, 1875 ; Compsomyia violaceinitens Rondani, 1875 .
TYPE SPECIES: Musca dux Eschscholtz, 1822 (as “ dux . Wdm.”) [= Musca megacephala Fabricius, 1794 ], by subsequent designation ( Coquillett, 1910: 526).
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Chrysomya Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Schumann (1986: 39) ].
