CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Atelenevra Macquart, 1834 or subsequent usage of Ateleneura Agassiz, 1846 .
FAMILY: PIPUNCULIDAE .
REMARKS: The earliest mention of Atelenevra Macquart, 1834 using the spelling “ Ateleneura ” that we have found in this study is Ateleneura Agassiz (1846a: 3) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “v” to “u” in the same work.
