TYPE SPECIES: Musca arctii De Geer, 1776 [= Musca tussilaginis Fabricius, 1775 ], by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Preoccupied by Costa, 1854; junior synonym of Cerajocera Rondani, 1856 (as a subgenus of Terellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ) [ teste Korneyev (1987: 237) ].

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Carpomya Rondani, 1856 View in CoL or subsequent usage of Carpomyia Loew, 1862 .

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Carpomya Rondani, 1856 using the spelling “ Carpomyia ” that we have found in this study is Carpomyia Loew (1862a: 50) , n. syn., as an unjustified emendation made available by virtue of the original and changed spellings being printed together and the changed spelling being adopted.
