CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Caricea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ; junior synonym of Coenosia Meigen, 1826 . New synonymy.
FAMILY: MUSCIDAE .
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “e” to “oe” in the same work. Caricea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Coenosia Meigen, 1826 [ teste Pont (1989: 695) ].
