Note. The record from Guyana of Canthidium gracilipes in Martínez and Halffter (1986: 32) is most likely based on the at the time ambiguous use of the names “ Guyana ” and “ Guiana ” in, respectively, Gillet (1911b: 55) and Blackwelder (1944: 205) for the type locality “Cayenne” in French Guiana. We base this on the facts that Martínez and Halffter (1986) do not mention the type locality French Guiana and that there are no other records for this species west of Suriname (see also Cupello (2018: 459)). The presence of this species in Guyana needs to be confirmed.
