Jilinga truncata View in CoL sp. nov.
Figs. 1D–F View FIGURE 1 , 2A–C View FIGURE 2 , 5A–I View FIGURE 5
Coloration and Morphology. Dark brown to yellowish brown ( Fig. 1D–F View FIGURE 1 , 2A–C View FIGURE 2 ). Crown with oblique streaks on anterior margin ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Pronotum with six yellow longitudinal bands ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Scutellum with pair of dark brown spots at anterior margin ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ). Legs pale with symmetrically arranged dark spots ( Fig. 1F View FIGURE 1 , 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Crown median length shorter than breadth between eyes ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 ).
Genitalia. Pygofer side longer than wide ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ), paired processes of internal pygofer membrane relatively broad and evenly curved ventromesad ( Fig. 5G, I View FIGURE 5 ). Anal tube with appendages fused for short distance, with distal branches longer than fused section, apex of each branch bifid with 2-3 smaller teeth concentrated on larger medial tooth and lateral tooth without smaller teeth ( Fig. 5B–C View FIGURE 5 ). Subgenital plates lateral margin moderately convex basally, moderately concave distally, with four macrosetae laterally at proximal half ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ). Style apophysis expanded and truncate with sharp lateral projection, surface with numerous denticuli and small setae ( Fig. 5D–E View FIGURE 5 ). Aedeagal shaft relatively slender, approximately five times longer than maximum width in posterior view, with 3 pairs of teeth arranged asymmetrically; dorsal apodeme well sclerotized and articulated with preatruim ( Fig. 5G–H View FIGURE 5 ); dorsal connective approximately 1.8 times wider than maximum height ( Fig. 5G–H View FIGURE 5 ).
Type material: Holotype: ♂, PAKISTAN, Punjab, Murree Hills , 12 July 2016, Coll. Hassan Naveed . Paratypes: 18♂, Jammu & Kashmir, Neelum Valley , 9 June 2016.
Remarks: This species closely resembles J. neelumensis but can be distinguished by the unevenly distributed distal teeth on the anal tube appendage and the much shorter and broader dorsal connective.
Etymology: The species epithet “ truncata ” is based on the truncate style apophysis.
