24. notabilis species-group

Diagnosis. Members of the notabilis speciesgroup can be distinguished from other Sagola species-groups by the following combination of characters: body length 2.4–3.0 mm; antennomere 1 approximately twice as long as wide ( Fig. 56g ); frontal sulcus deep and reaching posterior margin of eye ( Fig. 56h ); anterior frontal fovea round and partially covered by frontal rostrum, posterior frontal fovea elongate ( Fig. 56h ); ventral surface of male head distinctly depressed with a pair of processes ( Fig. 56i ); hind wings fully developed; hind femur as wide as tibia ( Fig. 56j ); hind claws enlarged ( Fig. 56k ); abdominal tergites IV–VI with discal carinae; male abdominal ventrites VI–VII with triangular and rectangular depression, respectively ( Fig. 56l ).

KEY TO SPECIES OF THE NOTABILIS SPECIES- GROUP

The key is based on male specimens because most female specimens are indistinguishable based on external morphology.
