Diagnostic remarks. Clasma pareichlora is similar in its general appearance to a small Ruspolia (especially R. sp. “G1) but can be distinguished by more robust, proportionally shorter legs ( Fig. 8H, I View FIGURE 8 ), and a short ovipositor with the upper valvula distinctly widened in the middle ( Fig. 8F View FIGURE 8 ). From Lanista annulicornis it can be differentiated by the facial markings that lack the uniformly black coloration on the frons, instead having diffused blue-green bands on the genae.

Distribution and natural history. This species was described from Tanzania (“Deutsch-Ostafrica) ( Karny 1907) and here it is recorded for the first time from Mozambique. In Gorongosa it has only been seen on grassy slopes of Mt. Gorongosa at the elevation of 800– 900 m.

Bioacoustics. The call of C. pareiochlora consists of an irregular train of syllables produced at the rate of 30–34 syllables/s; mean syllable duration is 0.0291 s (SD=0.001892, n=64); the peak frequency of the call is 14.0–27.5 kHz ( Figs. 46 View FIGURE 46 H–I).

Measurements (2 males, 1 female). body w/wings: male 34–34.6 (34.3.4), female 37; body w/o wings: male 23.4–25 (24.21.1), female 32.6; pronotum: male 6.25–6.3 (6.30), female 6.5; tegmen: male 24.2–24.8 (24.5.4), female 27.2; hind femur: male 12.6, female 11.3; ovipositor: 8.5 mm.
