Discussion. This species was previously known from several sites in Venezuela ( Stark 1995, 1999). These specimens, the first reported for Colombia, are from the Cordillera Occidental of the Región Natural Andina in northwestern Colombia. The locality in the Municipio de Tàmesis is a third order creek about 10 m wide and 0.50 m deep, with a mixed substrate composed of boulders, stones, patches of gravel and sands, and riffle zones. It flows to the Río Cauca middle basin. The water temperature was 24°C and the air 26°C at the time of collection. The sparse riparian vegetation consists primarily of shrubs and grasses. These specimens were collected during the wet season.
