Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 460 m, 23 Apr 1926, Kingdon-Ward 6692 ( K); same loc., 26 Feb 2007, Kurzweil & Saw Lwin 2261 ( SING, SING [s], RAF [s]), ident. uncertain [in bud] .

Distribution:— Sri Lanka, India, the Himalayas and Southeast Asia to the islands of the southwestern Pacific.

Note:— In a recent revision of the genus ( van der Burgh & de Vogel 1997: 143), it was suggested that, on the basis of the known distribution of this species, it may also occur in Myanmar, confirmed here.
