Specimen examined:— TANINTHARYI. Dawei District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 79). Distribution:— Andaman Islands, southern Myanmar, Thailand and western Malesia.

Dendrobium infundibulum Lindl., J. Proc. Linn. Soc., Bot. 3: 16, 1859. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Lobb s.n. (holotype: K-LINDL)

Reported from Magway Region and Kayah, Kayin and Rakhine states by Kress et al. (2003: 74), but we have not seen material from these areas .

Distribution:— India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Indochina.

Notes:— Seidenfaden (1985: 118) mentioned that E.A. Schelpe considered D. wattii conspecific with D. infundibulum . One of us, PO, has studied material from Myanmar, and based on this we concur. Dendrobium wattii represents the smaller-flowered forms of the species. Most likely, its so-called rarity is due to collectors preferring the larger-flowered forms rather than the smaller-flowered typical variety.
