Parish 12 (not located), fide Parish (1883: 197). TANINTHARYI. Dawei District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 74); Myeik District: 30 m, 4 Jun 2016, Tagane et al. MY 243 ( TNS), det. N. Tanaka. WITHOUT LOCALITY. 3 Sep 1971, Ohtsuka s.n. ( TI); 5 Sep 1970, Ohtsuka & Hashimoto s.n. ( TI). Also reported from Putao District in Kachin State by Saw Lwin (2007: 255 & 256), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Sri Lanka, India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern and southern China and western Malesia.

Cymbidium × ballianum Rolfe , Orchid Rev. 12: 85, 1904. Type :— MYANMAR. Without locality: cult. Alexander s.n. for Holford s.n. (holotype: not located, possibly K)

Specimens examined:— WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type; spring 1910, cult. Sander s.n . (AMES).

Distribution:— Endemic.

Notes:— Supposedly a natural hybrid between C. eburneum Lindl. and C. mastersii Griff. ex Lindl. described from a specimen exhibited at a show and simply said to exhibit ‘four white flowers having more pointed segments than C. eburneum , and crest of lip yellow’.
