Heterotypic synonyms: Eria paniculata Lindl. in N.Wallich, Pl. Asiat. Rar. 1: 32, 1830. Pinalia paniculata (Lindl.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 679, 1891. Mycaranthes paniculata (Lindl.) Schuit., Y.P.Ng & H.A.Pedersen, Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 186: 196, 2018.

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 610−915 m, 8 Dec 1931, Kingdon-Ward 10208 ( BM) ; Myitkyina District : 1160 m, 29 May 1929, Sue Koe 10015 ( K) ; same loc., 150−200 m, 14 Feb 2007, Murata et al. 041551 ( MBK, TI) . Also reported from Mandalay Region by Kress et al. (2003: 77; as Eria paniculata ), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— The central Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern China.
