Basionym: Cypripedium bellatulum Rchb. f., Gard. Chron., ser. 3, 3: 746, 1888. Type:— MYANMAR. Shan State: imp. Low 770 (holotype: W-R 36878 ) .

Homotypic synonym: Cordula bellatula (Rchb.f.) Rolfe, Orchid Rev. 20: 2, 1912.

Heterotypic synonym: Paphiopedilum bellatulum (Rchb.f.) Stein var. album O’Brien, Gard. Chron. , ser. 3, 17: 748, 1895.

Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern and southern China.

Notes:— The Prazer collection from Shan State cited above is possibly the same as the one called ‘Prayer’ cited under Cypripedium concolor Lindl. ex Bateman by Hooker (1890b: 170). Several varieties have been proposed, most of which have probably originated in Myanmar (the only source for many years).
