Specimens examined:— UPPER MYANMAR. Type. CHIN. Mindat District : 6 Aug 2016, Kim s.n., photo, ident. uncertain . MANDALAY. Myingyan District : 645 m, 13 Aug 2011, Cho et al. MM-0507 ( HHU), ident. uncertain .

Distribution:— Myanmar and perhaps southwestern China.

Notes:— Recent work undertaken by the first two authors in collaboration with A. Schuiteman (K) has suggested that the long-lost Myanmar endemic, Arundina subsessilis , is correctly placed in Thuniopsis , similar to or conspecific with the recently described Chinese T. cleistogama .
