Basionym: Sarcochilus merguensis Hook. View in CoL f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 40, 1890. Type:— MYANMAR. Tanintharyi Region: Myeik District , Griffith 1066 (holotype: K-LINDL) .
Homotypic synonym: Dendrocolla merguensis View in CoL (Hook.f.) Ridl., J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 32: 380, 1896.
Specimen examined:— TANINTHARYI. Dawei District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 103); Myeik District : type. Also reported from Mon State by Kress et al. (2003: 89), but we have not seen any material from this area.
Distribution:— The Andaman Islands, southern Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, Taiwan and western Malesia.
