Distribution:— The central Himalayas, northeastern India, the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and Malesia.

Notes:— Further study of the synonyms is needed. For example, Eria dillwynii Hook. ( Philippines to New Guinea) seems to be a distinct entity. King & Pantling (1898: 121) noted that Eria bractescens var. kurzii is a larger form that ‘extends through Burma to the Andaman and Nicobar islands’. Material supporting this statement should be looked for in CAL.
