Mindat District : 2500 m, 24 Apr 2003, Murata et al. 029665 ( MBK), det. T. Yukawa .? MON. ‘ Amherst District’: Jan 1912, Lace s.n. ( E), det. E. F. de Vogel. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Griffith s.n., Kew Distr. 5387 ( K). Reported from Sagaing and Mandalay regions by Kress et al. (2003: 86), but we have not seen any material from these areas.

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

Notes:— A photo identified as P. carnea (Blume) Lindl. in Nyan Tun (2014: 383) actually represents P. rubra . According to de Vogel (1988: 49) five collections from Kachin State at BM and E also belong here.
