Diagnosis. Size 10–13.5mm. Frontal index 7.5–7.9. This species resembles L. exaestuans , but is paler in general appearance, with a narrower frons, brown antenna and pale palpus with predominantly white hairs, and the wing hyaline with narrow yellowish pterostigma.
Comments. The male was described by Krolow et al. (2010). It is an Amazonian species so far collected north of the Amazon River. It attacks horses in the belly.
