Eurymorpha Hope, 1838 View in CoL (Col. Man. 2: 16)
A monotypic genus restricted to the sea beaches of Namibia and southern Angola.
Eurymorpha cyanipes Hope, 1938 (Col. Man. 2: 160)
Distribution in Angola
Old records:
—Cape Negro (=Cabo Negro), beach, S. Namibe (NAMIBE) (373), Mossamedes (=Namibe) (NAMIBE) (353)
(Wellman & Horn 1908 sub Eurymorpha cyanipes mouffeti Fairmaire ).
Remarks. A species which occurs on the sea beaches of southern Angola and Namibia, always close to the water on wet and on dry sandy (Werner 2000b). He observed that the adults are good fliers and in several locations ( Namibia) they are the diurnal counterpart of the nocturnal Platychile pallida (Fabricius) . However, contrary to what one would expect, this latter species has not yet been recorded for Angola.
