Known range: limited to the type locality.

Material: type locality; Alvin dive 3117; 850 m; 7 July 1997; 30 × 30 cm square black net operated with the manipulator arm; USNM 1009651 View Materials [holotype, female (ovigerous, specimen ID: BN 70 )], USNM 1009652 View Materials [paratypes, 2 females (specimen ID: BN 68 and BN 51 ), abdomen torn from body], USNM 1009653 View Materials (nontypes, 11 females; not named) ( Shank & Martin, 2003) .
