Description of Micromonospora avicenniae R _77

Cells are aerobic, Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and filamentous. Colonies are circular, convex, rough, entire and orange colored after incubation for 3 days on ISP7 View Materials agar at 30℃. In the API 20NE system, positive reaction for nitrate reduction, hydrolysis of esculin and gelatin, β-galactosidase activity and utilization of D-glucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, Dmannitol, Dmaltose, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malic acid and phenylacetic acid. In the API 20NE system, negative reaction for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, oxidase activity and utilization of N acetylglucosamine, capric acid and trisodium citrate. Strain R _77 (= NIBRBAC000503392) was isolated from soil in Sejong, Korea (36°28′42.4″N 127°15′42.0″E) GoogleMaps .
