4. A. kareliniana Meyer ex Trautvetter View in CoL
Type (lectotype, designated by Vassiljeva 1996: 13):— KAZAKHSTAN. In montosis sylvaticis Alatau, sat frequens, 1841, Karelin et Kiriloff 1163 (LE!).
General distribution: Kazakhstan, China (Xinjang).
Note: All Indian specimens previously identified as A. kareliniana , belong to A. nivalis . Both species possess concoloured dark violet flowers and yellow anthers.
