Material examined. New Caledonia: CONCALIS cruise, stn. CP 3013, 18°48.50’S 163°11.36’E, 669–683 m, 8 May 2008: 2 males (30.1 x 21.5 mm, 29.8 x 20.8 mm) ( ZRC 2008.0980 ) .

Remarks. Griffin & Brown (1976) first described the species from Australia. This species has a very characteristic pseudo-chela on the P5, which closely resembles a real chela ( Fig. 6B) (see also Guinot & Richer de Forges 1995: 527). Known only from the Coral and Tasman seas, from 500 to 825 m.
