Material examined. Solomon Islands: SALOMONBOA, stn. CP 2804, 09°14.16’S 161°19.85’E, 150–175 m, 17 September 2007: 1 male (6.8 x 4.7 mm) ( MNHN-B31305 ) GoogleMaps .

Remarks. This species, described from the South China Sea ( Dai & Chen 1980) was subsequently recorded from Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia ( Guinot & Richer de Forges 1995). The present record from the Solomons extends its distribution. Richer de Forges & Ng (2007: 31, Fig. 1D) provided a colour photograph of L. tetraspinosa showing a pattern very different from that of L. bispinosa or L. marivenae Richer de Forges & Ng 2007 .
